Programs
Children's Church
Children's Church is for for children from 1st through 6th grade. We meet each Sunday (except the last Sunday of the month) immediately following the praise & worship time in our Sunday morning service. Children experience worship through music, songs, prayer, videos, drama, puppetry, and more.
Extended Teaching Care
ETC is designed for parents who choose to attend Bible study, worship services, and other ministry events without needing to care for their small children at the same time. ETC is offered for children birth through kindergarten. Parents can be certain their children will always remain safe while in the care of our ETC volunteers. Security is and will always be a top priority within the Brookside Kids Children's Ministry.
Life of Faith
This program is designed for girls only ages 1st through 6th grade and is aimed at teaching them to live a lifestyle of faith thorough biblically based stories, discussion, activities, and more. Each month girls will focus on special topics of interests which will allow for personal character development in a special all-female format.
"Now That I'm A Christian!"
This class is only offered four times per year and is focused on teaching children what it means to be a Christian. If your child has recently become a Christian, this class is for them! This class will meet immediately following the morning worship event and lunch will be provided free of charge. Current classes are scheduled for March 12, July 23, and November 5, 2006.
Praise Kids
Praise Kids is a music ministry within Brookside Kids for children who love to sing. The choirs meet each week on Wednesday nights and performs several times each year. The focus of this fully graded choir is to implement and instill in children the values of personal worship and other values such as respect, team work, and discipline.
Team Kids
This special curriculum is designed to offer fun weekly activities and music for younger children ages 4 and 5. Each week children focus on specialized topics and are introduced to the Bible in a fun and creative way that is appropriate for this special age group.
Sunday School
At Brookside, we use a variety of curricula, ranging from well-respected publishers to our own unique curriculum and theme rooms. By providing a thorough, age-appropriate study of the Bible, we support parents and supplement their efforts as they follow God's admonition to instruct their children in the truths about God's Word.
"What Do I Do Now?"
What Do I Do Now is a support group for children in 1st-6th grades who have experienced the divorce of their parents. This is an adult guided, peer support ministry for children. However, this program is not counseling instruction or therapy. Children are encouraged to express their feelings and thoughts with other children in the group. The facilitators will guide the children through 12 topics that are of concern for children of divorce. Each of the eight sessions is built around specific goals.
The overall goals of this program are:
1. To provide a safe place for children to talk about their feelings.
2. To lead children to discover they can trust God to help them daily in practical ways.
3. To promote emotional, spiritual, social, and mental health.
4. To help children look forward to the future with optimism.
