You matter to God. He made you and wants to have a personal relationship with you. He loves you and does not want to go through eternity without you. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world (you!)…" (John 3:16)
However, there’s a problem. Scripture says, "For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard." (Romans 3:23) Because of sin we are separated from that relation- ship with God for which we were created.
Trying to "make up for our sins" by doing good things will never be enough. No amount of effort on our part can earn God’s forgiveness or re-establish our relationship with Him. The fact is: the penalty we owe for our sins is death – separation from God for eternity. (Romans 6:23)
That is not what God wants for any of us. Because He loves us, He has provided the way to solve this separation problem. He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on a cross in our place (paying the death penalty we owed). He then raised Jesus from the grave. As Scripture says, "He (Jesus) never sinned, but He died for sinners that He might bring us …to God." (1 Peter 3:18)
Your part is to place your trust in Jesus as your Forgiver and commit to follow Him as the Leader of your life. The Bible says, "…to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn! … not a physical birth … this rebirth comes from God." (John 1:12-13) You can receive Christ into your life right now and begin a personal relationship with God. Simply admit to Him your need of a Savior and invite Christ to come into your life – to live His life in you.
Would you share your decision with us by emailing the pastor? We would love the opportunity to speak with you further about your decision and pray with you as you begin your personal relationship with Christ.
